Dear Ladies & Gentleman,

I can't say enough about Peak Software and SportsMan. When I met Jay at our MRPA State conference about 4 years ago, I was convinced that SportsMan was made for our department.

I work for the City of Peabody in the Recreation, Parks & Forestry Department. The Recreation Department alone runs over 300 programs annually. SportsMan helps us to manage all of these programs and its employees. It keeps our department more organized than in past years, back when we used paper and pencil. We are able to print rosters and invoices, set up league play, and schedule and permit fields and parks. The accounting information is very helpful. We can see how much we have brought in and how much is still outstanding in each of our classes. It is also useful to be able to look up a customer's complete account: current and past classes, cancellations, transfers and refunds. My staff has found that Sportsman is extremely easy to learn and user friendly.

As far as Tech Support, they are excellent and are always willing to go the extra mile to find a solution. You can't beat the price especially when tech support and updates are included in the package. All in all, Peak Software & SportsMan is a great company and program to work with. The thought of implementing a new software package to replace an antiquated DOS based system is scary for any business or organization who cannot afford a high priced IT guy or department to handle the research, consultation, implementation and required training. That is why the folks at Peak Software Systems have been an integral part of our YMCA operation over the last two years.

Without having to pay the high, up front cost of new software implementation, Peak was instrumental in helping us design and implement their SportsMan software into a system that connects two facilities, one database, and some state-of-the-art hand scanning equipment. The SportsMan software itself enables us to move to the next level in technology and member service by simplifying class registrations, membership access and tracking, reporting, facility reservations and most recently, online registrations. Because Peak only charges for yearly updates, service and support, affordability was one of the biggest reasons that we chose SportsMan. But as time went on, we found that the "customer-driven" philosophy of the company gave us the flexibility of coming up with new, better ways of doing things and then seeing them implemented in the next update.

Finally, the staff at Peak Software Systems is always responsive to our questions and needs. You'll rarely get a machine when you call, and they are never too busy to answer the smallest questions with a smile in their voice. Bigger issues are approached as a team with the needs of the customer in the forefront.

Bottom line, Peak Software and the SportsMan package have been critical pieces in this software and technology puzzle for the YMCA of Youngstown, Ohio.

I have been very pleased with the pre-sales selection process, implementation, and post-implementation support related to the Peak Software’s SportsMan (now SportsMan SQL) on line registration product.

I work for a recreation department in a computer-savvy Boston suburb of 13,000. We proudly offer a broad and growing program of general activities, educational offerings, and sports programs. In 2006, I realized that our antiquated database application was not serving our customers adequately, and certainly wasn’t providing an efficient tool for our administrative staff.

I began to research registration software companies and ultimately chose Peak Software’s SportsMan solution. I knew that my choice was considered a major decision within our recreation department, and reactions to my choice would likely become a major portion of my next performance review. I was relieved by Peak Software’s soft-sell, friendly style, and the fact that SportsMan solutions matched up nicely with my key concerns.

  • We needed a customer friendly product with the flexibility and feature depth to provide registration services. The SportsMan solution provided the features we needed. (We later collaboratively added a key feature to meet our evolving needs, and I was pleased with how Peak appreciated my suggestion and their quick response—they added the feature for everyone’s benefit!)
  • We are recreation program administrators, not software technicians, so it is crucial that Peak’s support staff welcome even our most basic questions. When we call, they greet us with enthusiasm and work immediately to solve any problems we have.
  • A dark day always eventually arrives, and we had ours! Our hard drive containing all customer registration data crashed, and we learned that our town IT department had not recently backed up our data. We were ready to panic on the Friday afternoon when the crash occurred, since weekends are heavy online registration times. Peak’s head technical guru worked the entire weekend to resurrect our data from their backup system and get us back online, always with a “how can we help attitude?”
  • Cost effectiveness is always a key concern. Peak Software’s fees were (and are) reasonable, but my real pleasure has been to realize how our I am now free to do more creative work--adding additional recreation activities, marketing our programs (emailing all of our customers using Peak’s database email system which is a breeze to use), and learning more from our customers about what they want as we move forward.

    You can read all about SportsMan’s terrific features, but what you can’t yet know is how receptive the company is to customers’ suggestions and support dilemmas. The SportsMan solution was a great choice for us.
