DSM & Using daily notes to auto create orders on the
screen for time off.
1. As seen below, go
to file, table maintenance, off work codes.

- Click
the ADD button. Type a 2 digit
code, then the description. If you
wish to have the system create an order on the screen to show a person as
OFF tracking 8 hours for example, make sure to check the “Auto create
order” box. Next, make sure it’s
assigned to a customer. Typically,
this will be YOUR BUSINESS. After
that, pick which work type you wish to associate this with. If you do not have a work type set up in
the system for this, you will need to exit and create one by going to
file, table maintenance, work types & groups.
- Once
done, click EXIT and it will save the settings.

- Now,
with all that in place, go to the schedule. (Action, add/view/edit orders.)

- Let’s
assume that a worker has called in sick.
Here is where we put in a job on the screen showing them being
off. Click the DAILY NOTES
button.
- Pick
the category first. Then, find the
worker below that. You can type
notes if you like as well.
- This
last step is important. If you want
the system to auto post the entry as an order, you MUST check the box
entitled “Person is not available for work”, then
pick the reason. Enter a typical 8
hours and hit ok.

As seen here, you now have an entry on the screen showing a
worker off work.

If you wish to see the report, click the reports button
below, select Daily notes.

Now, pick a few options and you have some pretty good
off-time accounting.

Example report.
