NEW CUSTOMER LEAD TRACKING AND DSM

DSM now has a function that will allow you to track where your new customers are coming from.  Be it from your internet site, a yellow page advertisement, word of mouth or anything else, it’s up to you.

SETTING UP:

To use this feature you must enter the lead types into the system.  You may do so by going to FILE, then TABLE MAINTENANCE and NEW CUSTOMER LEAD TYPES as illustrated below.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll be presented with the screen shown below.  Just click the ADD button and you’re on your way.  Make sure you click OK when complete.

Your next step is to go to FILE, CONFIGURATION, then SYSTEM.  From the screen shown below, click on the “ORDER/CUSTOMER” button.

The following screen will appear.  Please note the highlighted area at the bottom right.    You will want to place a “Y” in the field next to ENABLE.  From there, you will click ADD/REMOVE Additional to enter your new customers which you’d like to track.

From there you’ll be taken to the list of customers in your tracking system.  If there are none, you’ll be taken to the customer finder screen.   To add customers to your list, just click ADD.

Upon clicking ADD, you’ll be presented with the customer finder screen.  Typically you’ll want to add customers like COD customers.  Just double click on the customer to add to your list.

ENTERING THE ORDER:

The next thing to do is enter an order for any of the customers you’ve just added into the system using the method above.

Go to ACTION, ADD/VIEW/EDIT ORDERS and click on NEW ORDER.  Find a customer you entered into the system earlier.  Upon selecting the customer, you will be prompted with the following screen.

Simply make your choice and hit ok.

Once you’ve gone through the process of entering the job ticket and invoicing the customer as you normally would, you’ll be able to run the report specific to this function.

RUNNING THE REPORT:

To run the report associated with Lead Tracking go to REPORTS, then SALES REPORTS, then  NEW CUSTOMER LEADS REPORT as illustrated below.
